      The article presents a study which aims to determine whether the haptoglobin genotype (Hp) modifies the association between serum ascorbic acid deficiency and dietary vitamin C. The study concludes that the Hp2-2 genotype increases the risk of vitamin C deficiency. Information on the research methodology employed by the authors is provided.
