Library Storage Box Policy
There are 12 cubicles in the corner to your left when you walk in the library’s main entrance. Five of them are computer workstations, but the other seven have storage cubbies that can be reserved for use by Carolina University affiliates (students, faculty, staff, and alumni).
To reserve a storage unit, just pick the unit you want, remember the number on the front of the storage box, and tell the library staff member at the information desk that you would like to reserve that unit. They will give you the key and you’ll be expected to return the key when your reservation ends after 7 weeks.
Rules for checking out a storage space:
- Note that you are checking out a key to the storage space, not the whole cubicle. This means that you have access to the storage space and may keep things inside, and you have preferred access to the desk when you are in the library. When you are not utilizing the space, the cubicle can be used as study space by other library patrons.
- Since other patrons may sit at the cubicle when you are not there, please do not leave anything out on the desk. Anything left on the desk underneath the storage space may be removed at library closing time.
- All trash must be disposed of properly.
- When you check out the key, it is due in 7 weeks. You may renew for an additional seven weeks by calling, visiting, or emailing the library.
